Equine catch
A lockable two way gate latch used for horse arenas, livery and any circumstance where the gate must always open away from the user irrespective of direction of approach.
Our flagship catch, the Equine catch, is made from stainless steel (4003) and built to last. It is renowned for its easy opening and closing and can be fitted in a couple of minutes with the stainless steel coach screws provided. Gate drop does not affect the Equine catch and there are no fiddly pins or bolts to negotiate with numb hands or thick gloves on a cold day. The catch is lockable using a standard padlock.
It is fitted as standard by major arena builders worldwide.
The Equine catch is also used by The National Trust in UK for disabled access to its gardens thereby complying with the UK Disability Discrimination Act (1999). It was chosen by the Knightsbridge Barracks, Hyde Park, home to the Household Cavalry after several attempts to find a solution to their particular issues of moving many horses around their stable yards. Many early alternative catches were fitted and quickly rejected before Equicatch gained enthusiastic acceptance throughout the barracks.
